Big Dog is a pedal assist ebike. That means you need to pedal to engage the motor.
So why do we also add a Small Thumb Throttle to the handlebar ?
Many riders have told us that it is helpful in supplying instant momentum when required.
For example : when taking off from a stop street , traffic light , on a very steep hill or on soft beach sand.
From a stationary position , E-bikes with Pedal-assist require you to turn the pedals half a revolution to engage the motor.
However with a throttle, you get instant momentum until Pedal Assist kicks in and you can let go of the throttle.
